Geo targeting affiliate links by country

DealPage is a referral link tracker that routes one short link to a different affiliate link per visitor country, with a default for everyone else.

Why one affiliate link fails abroad

Many affiliate programs are regional. A store's US program does not pay for a sale on its UK site, and an app may not be available in every country. If your audience is international, a single link means some readers land on a page that is wrong for them, and you are not credited.

Posting several links, one per country, clutters the post and relies on readers picking the right one.

How country routing works

The short link checks which country the visitor is in and redirects to the link you set for that country. Anyone from a country you did not set up goes to the default link.

Country detection is based on the visitor's network location, so someone using a VPN is routed by the VPN's country.

Setting it up in DealPage

On a Deal, add country targets: a two-letter country code and the link for it. Keep the Deal's main destination as the default. The same short links you already posted start routing by country straight away. Country routing is part of Pro; on the free tier every visitor goes to the default link.

The statistics page shows clicks by country, which tells you whether a country deserves its own program link.

Frequently asked

How does DealPage know the visitor's country?
From the network location of the request, as reported by Cloudflare. VPN users are routed by the VPN's country.
What happens to visitors from other countries?
They go to the Deal's default destination.
Can a single short link carry several countries?
Yes. One short link can route to as many country-specific links as you configure on the Deal.
